FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Helper: Wednesday 6/5/19
In what seems to be an odd trend this season, yesterday's three most popular pitchers (Noah Syndergaard, Stephen Strasburg, Blake Snell) all scored below 30 FanDuel points, as big name chalk pitchers seem to be coming up short more often than we've come to expect. It's nothing more than your run-of-the-mill variance, but it's certainly led to some frustrating nights for many a DFS player. On another large main slate with a variety of pitching options at various price points, ownership ought to be spread out tonight, though, and recency bias shouldn't scare us away from any high-priced options we like.
Our daily helper is available every day to analyze FanDuel's main slate and help give you a starting point when you're building lineups. Be sure to also incorporate our great tools into your research process. Whether you're looking for daily projections, the latest starting lineups and weather, or batting and pitching heat maps to find the best matchups -- we've got you covered! And don't forget to take a listen to The Solo Shot podcast with Jim Sannes, who breaks down the MLB daily fantasy slate each day.
On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel main slate.
Pitchers to Target
High-Priced Pitchers
Chris Sale ($11,500 on FanDuel): Between last night's top pitchers failing, and Chris Sale's inconsistent results and high price tag, it will be interesting to see where Sale's ownership ends up on this 12-game slate despite a plus matchup against the Kansas City Royals. Sale hasn't cracked 40 FanDuel points in any of his last three starts, though they came in less than ideal matchups against the Astros (twice) and Yankees, and he still posted a 32.5% strikeout rate over that span. If we expand to the entire month of May, he produced a stellar 2.21 SIERA, 43.1% strikeout rate, and 5.9% walk rate over six starts. In a far easier draw against Kansas City -- whose active roster owns an 88 wRC+ and 23.3% strikeout rate versus lefties -- we shouldn't be surprised if Sale bounces back with one of his massive ceiling games.
