3 MLB FanDuel Studs to Target on Wednesday 5/26/21

Trea Turner has been a power-speed threat, and he's got a massive opportunity tonight. What other studs should we target?

Just like in other sports, the focal point of your daily fantasy baseball lineups will be your high-salary studs. These guys take up by far the biggest chunk of your cap space, but they also offer the highest ceiling. And in the case of pitchers, the high-salary options typically come with the highest floors, too.

For hitters, we're looking for guys with big numbers, strong matchups, and with players around them that are likely to produce well, too, increasing our chances for runs and RBI. For pitchers, we want big strikeout numbers, while the ability to go deep in a game and pick up a win is also valuable.

With your high-salary picks playing such a big role in your lineup, you need to be right on these guys, so let's take a look at a few top-end options you can count on to anchor your lineup today.

Tyler Glasnow, SP, Tampa Bay Rays ($10,700)

There are two massive arms on tonight's main slate, and it's come down to Sophie's Choice -- do we go with Trevor Bauer, who's facing the tough Houston Astros lineup, or Tyler Glasnow, who struggled his last time out?

I am going with Glasnow, who was allegedly tipping pitches in his last start. Now, neither team is facing a squad that strikes out a ton -- both clock in at the bottom 10 of the league in strikeout rate.

But what sets the Astros (and Bauer) apart is that they are the league's hardest team to strike out -- Clayton Kershaw only whiffed six last night -- so I'm betting on Glasnow.

Our projections have Glasnow generating 38.3 FanDuel points, second-best on the slate.

Christian Yelich, OF, Milwaukee Brewers ($4,000)

Back, and this time hopefully for a while, Christian Yelich of the Milwaukee Brewers takes aim at Chris Paddack. Can he revive this moribund offense?

All signs point to yes. While Paddack was better in his last outing, he had been inconsistent prior to that, getting torched by the St. Louis Cardinals, the San Francisco Giants, and the Arizona Diamondbacks in consecutive starts.

Yelich appears healthy -- he stole a bag over the weekend and smacked a long home run against Cincinnati on Sunday. Perhaps Paddack can continue to get him healthy.

Trea Turner, SS, Washington Nationals ($3,800)

Despite a close loss last night, the Washington Nationals have been playing far better baseball as of late, and that could continue with a matchup against Jeff Hoffman.

The Rockie-turned-Red has logged a 4.31 ERA and 1.49 WHIP over 39 2/3 innings, and that's kind of a summation of his career in Colorado -- too many walks, and not even command.

That could allow Trea Turner to run wild on the bases -- and part of the reason we peg him as a top five hitter tonight. Mix in his power combo (10 home runs this season), and he could smash this evening.
