Jordan Montgomery has a great matchup to continue his hot streak since arriving in St. Louis. Which other arms should you consider on Tuesday?

In daily fantasy baseball, success starts with nailing the starting pitcher spot in your lineup.

When compared to hitters, pitching performance tends to be much more predictable and stable throughout the course of the season. You know what you're getting from a top-level ace when you roster him: probably a dominant effort with only one or two implosions per season. In contrast, even the game's best hitters have days at the plate where they go 0-for-4.

As a result, lineup construction should begin with the starting pitcher. Which pitchers should you consider on today's main slate?

High-Salaried Play #1
Jacob deGrom, New York Mets

vs. Chicago Cubs
FanDuel Salary: $12,000

One player that's going to be hard for me to ignore tonight is Jacob deGrom of the New York Mets.

He leads our projection set by quite a bit tonight, and we know that deGrom is other-worldly on the mound. Despite missing quite a bit of time due to injury, he's already recorded a 41.4% strikeout rate, and he walks virtually no one.

The Cubs are in the bottom half of the league in terms of team wOBA and isolated power (ISO), and their hefty 23.8% strikeout rate is something we love to target.

If you can afford the high salary he holds, the deGrominator should be worth it.

High-Salaried Play #2
Kyle Wright, Atlanta Braves

at San Francisco Giants
FanDuel Salary: $10,100

It doesn't look the San Francisco Giants are going to be able to cook up the same magic they created last year in winning the NL West, and their offense is partially to blame.

Over the last 30 days, the Giants lead the league with an ugly 26.9% strikeout rate, and they've posted a dreadful .297 wOBA and .149 ISO in that time. Not great, Bob!

And Kyle Wright? He's been really darn good. His 23.8% strikeout rate may not be eye-popping, but his 54.6% ground-ball rate is awesome, and batters have had a hard time squaring him up (29.5% hard-hit rate).

The Atlanta righty is definitely a nice alternative should deGrom -- for whatever reason -- struggle tonight.

Mid-Range Play
Jordan Montgomery, St. Louis Cardinals

vs. Milwaukee Brewers
FanDuel Salary: $9,100

As the St. Louis Cardinals are trying to deliver a knockout punch and capture the NL Central title, they will hand the ball to Jordan Montgomery to help extend their lead against their division rival Milwaukee Brewers.

Milwaukee provides a massive upside opportunity for Montgomery. In the last month, they have struck out at a whopping rate of 25.5%, and they're not getting on base a ton overall (.302 wOBA) in that same stretch.

Montgomery seems to be working with typical Cardinals voodoo magic down the stretch. With his swap for Harrison Bader, the southpaw has been brilliant this season over 158 innings, logging a 3.02 ERA and only a 25.5% hard-hit rate.
