Jarred Kelenic joining Mariners bench Monday
Seattle Mariners outfielder Jarred Kelenic is not in the starting lineup against left-hander Drew Smyly and the Chicago Cubs in Monday's series opener.
What It Means:
The left-handed hitting Kelenic will sit versus the Cubs' southpaw. Teoscar Hernandez will move to right field in place of Kelenic and hit cleanup. Cooper Hummel will be the Mariners' designated hitter and bat eighth. A.J. Pollock will make another start in left field and hit fifth.
