Dodgers' Walker Buehler (elbow) to open 2024 season on IL
Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Walker Buehler (elbow) will start the 2024 season on the Injured List without a timetable for return according to Dave Roberts.
Buehler is still working his way back from an August 2022 Tommy John surgery, his second such operation on his throwing arm. General manager Roberts did not provide an expected return date for the two-time All-Star other than that he would not be ready to start the season, but Buehler is expected to return at some point in 2024.
The Dodgers bolstered their pitching corps this offseason and currently have no need to rush Buehler back, but Buehler was able to pitch a pair of innings at the Triple-A level to close out the 2023 season and has been pitching in practice this offseason. Hopefully former ace is ready to make his healthy return before too long.
