J.D. Davis (groin) out Monday for Athletics
Oakland Athletics infielder J.D. Davis (groin) is not in the lineup for Monday's series opener against right-hander Sonny Gray and the St. Louis Cardinals.
Davis could miss multiple games after suffering a groin injury in Sunday's series finale against the Washington Nationals. Abraham Toro will take over on third base Monday, while Tyler Nevin will start at designated hitter and bat out of the cleanup spot. Seth Brown will move down a peg and bat fifth for Oakland.
numberFire's models project Toro for 8.7 FanDuel points on Monday. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Athletics have the third-worst implied total (3.30) in the majors today.
