Adolis Garcia idle Tuesday afternoon for Texas
Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia is not in the lineup on Tuesday afternoon against right-hander Casey Mize and the Detroit Tigers.
Garcia will sit for the first time this season after going 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts in Monday's series opener. It was just his third hitless outing through 17 games. Evan Carter will cover right field on Tuesday afternoon, while Wyatt Langford will return to left and replace Garcia as the cleanup batter.
Per numberFire's MLB Heat Map, the Rangers have a middling implied total (4.13) on Tuesday, while the game total (8.0) is on the bottom half of the board. Mise has a poor 14.3 strikeout percentage so far this season, paired with a 7.1 walk percentage.
