1. New York

Win Shares: 928.0

If Louisiana is the elite, that could only make New York the king, as all five of their top players have at least 117.1 career win shares. In fact, the top three have at least 181.1 win shares each for a total of 668.5 between them.

With 273.4 win shares, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar sits at the very top of the throne. Across 20 seasons, the Hall of Famer played in 19 All-Star games and won six league championships. He was a six-time MVP and one-time Finals MVP in his time with the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers.

Joining Kareem is the greatest of all time, Michael Jordan. He is second in win shares (214.0) but still won 6 titles, 6 Finals MVPs and 5 MVPs over 15 seasons. He was also a 14-time All-Star and was voted into the Hall of Fame in 2009.

Finishing off the top three with another great like Julius "Dr. J" Erving says it all. In 1,243 games, Erving accounted for 181.1 win shares and 30,026 points. The Hall of Famer was voted into 14 All-Star games, earned 4 MVPs and won 4 rings in his 16 NBA seasons.
