Giannis Going Off

With their length, the Boston Celtics match up perfectly with the Milwaukee Bucks on the defensive end. Well, almost.

Like most of the league, the Celtics have answers for everyone save for that Antetokoumpo fellow.

Jaylen Brown, who held his opponents to a league-low 39.6% from the floor this season, was glued to Khris Middleton in Game 1. While overtime helped Middleton finish with a big point total, he shot just 40% against Brown and had a 3-to-1 turnover-to-assist ratio when being defended by Brown. Eric Bledsoe also had his hands full, as Brad Stevens used Terry Rozier to lock him down on the perimeter. Bledsoe shot 28.6% and scored just 5 points in 43 possessions against Scary Terry.

With Bledsoe and Middleton accounted for, you'd think that Giannis would see a lot of Jayson Tatum defensively, but Stevens stuck with Al Horford and Marcus Morris on him. Those two defended Giannis on a combined 72% of his possessions, but even they looked overmatched while doing so. Antetokounmpo finished with 35 points and 66.1 FanDuel points. He averaged 57.2 FanDuel points in four regular season games against Boston this season, and he should continue to overwhelm them, win or loss.

With Antetokounmpo clearly having the best matchup of Milwaukee's primary options, expect the Bucks to continue to funnel looks his way. His 33.2% usage rate in Game 1 was no fluke, so paying up for the Greek Freak is in play throughout the entirety of this first-round matchup.
