Chuba Hubbard (ankle) ruled out Week 9 for Panthers
Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard (ankle) is out for Week 9 against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
Hubbard sat out Friday's practice after being limited in the first two sessions this week, so he may have suffered a setback with his ankle injury. D'Onta Foreman will lead the Panthers' backfield again after he had 118 yards and three scores on 26 carries last week with Hubbard sidelined. However, the Panthers are 7.0-point underdogs against the Bengals, so they may not be able to run the ball as much.
The Bengals are allowing the seventh-fewest FanDuel points per game to the running back position this season and their run defense ranks 14th in numberFire's schedule-adjusted team metrics. Among the 77 running backs with at least 15 carries this season, Hubbard is averaging the most Rushing Net Expected Points per carry (0.36) while Foreman is 14th (0.16).
