Miles Sanders (illness) sits out Panthers practice Wednesday
Carolina Panthers running back Miles Sanders (illness) did not practice on Wednesday for Week 18 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Sanders should feel better by Sunday, but he will likely remain in a backup role to Chuba Hubbard. The fifth-year veteran has only recorded 16 touches over the past three games.
numberFire's models project Sanders for 5.4 carries, 25.3 rushing yards, 1.4 receptions, and 7.2 yards in Week 18. The Panthers are taking on a Tampa Bay defense that has the fourth-best run defense in the league this season, according to our opponent-adjusted efficiency rankings. They are also allowing the third-fewest FanDuel points per game to running backs.
