James Cook Buffalo's 'top back' for 2023
Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic writes that James Cook "is the top back" for the Buffalo Bills for the upcoming 2023 season.
Cook took a little time to work up to speed in the Bills' offense in his rookie campaign, but did develop into a meaningful contributor partway through the year. The 5'11", 190lbs back isn't likely to shoulder the bulk of the Bills' workload in 2023, but it looks like the team will expect him to maintain the 10-15 touch role he claimed by the end of the 2022 despite the offseason signings of Damien Harris and Latavius Murray.
Cook compiled 507 rushing yards and 2 scores on his 89 opportunities last season while adding another 180 yards and 1 more touchdown on 21 receptions.
