Atlanta's Tyler Allgeier 'learning from' rookie Bijan Robinson

Atlanta Falcons running back Tyler Allgeier said he is learning how to be an "all-around" back from new teammate Bijan Robinson.

What It Means:

Allgeier added "That's my goal, to be an all-around back," when talking about Robinson, whose ability to affect the game in more ways than just rushing the football impressed the second-year back. Allgeier was one of the most productive rushers in the league in the latter half of the 2022 season, and while the addition of Robinson to Atlanta's offense will curb some of his upside in 2023, Allgeier should still be an important member of the team's offense this year. AtlantaFalcons.com reporter Tori McElhaney added that the two backs have different styles as rushers; where Robinson avoids contact with his top-notch elusiveness, Allgeier offered tackle-breaking power as a rookie. The Falcons are expected to utilize both players to their strengths this season.

Allgeier will be one of the premiere handcuff running backs in fantasy football this season, but also figures to have some standalone value even without an injury to Bijan Robinson in Atlanta's high-volume rushing attack. He is numberFire's RB42 in our season-long projections and could have spiked weeks if Robinson were to miss any time.
