Damien Harris 'excited' for role in Buffalo's 2023 offense
New Buffalo Bills running back Damien Harris expressed excitement with his role in the team's offense for the upcoming 2023 season.
Harris emphasized that his early conversations with the team illustrated that the Bills plan for each of their backs to have distinct roles, and that he is excited for the role the team has planned for him. New teammate James Cook has been called the team's "lead back" at points this offseason, but Harris' significantly larger frame and past experiences as the New England Patriots' lead back could give him an edge over Cook in the most important area of the field for fantasy football: the red zone.
Harris is currently the RB41 in numberFire's early projections for the 2023 season, trailing Cook's RB32 projection. Both backs will have the benefit of playing in one of the NFL's premiere offenses and either could vault into the top tier of fantasy football players if they win a bell-cow role in the offense.
