Anthony Richardson named Colts Week 1 starter
Indianapolis Colts rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson has been named the starter for the regular season, per head coach Shane Steichen.
Richardson, the fourth overall pick from this year's draft, has officially beat out Gardner Minshew for the starting job. He started the Colts' first preseason game and completed 7-of-12 pass attempts for 67 yards with no touchdowns and an interception. He also rushed twice for seven yards. Richardson is a raw prospect that may take some time to develop as a passer in the NFL, but his rushing ability could make the rookie a Week 1 starter in fantasy formats as well.
numberFire's models project Richardson for 18.1 FanDuel points in Week 1. He's the QB14 in our Week 1 rankings and has a $6,700 salary. For the season, Richardson is our QB15 and projected for 3,340.1 passing yards with 17.66 touchdowns and 11.2 interceptions, plus 153.9 rush attempts for 832.3 yards and 5.64 touchdowns.
