Broncos' Javonte Williams (hip) might not miss time
Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams suffered a hip flexor in Sunday's Week 4 win over the Chicago Bears, reports Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Schefter said Williams isn't expected to miss much time and he might even be available for Week 5 against the New York Jets. The Broncos will release their first injury report for the week after Wednesday's practice. Rookie Jaleel McLaughlin and Samaje Perine split backfield work after Williams exited early.
Perine out-snapped McLaughlin 22-16 in Week 4, but he only had 8 touches for 35 yards while the rookie turned 10 touches into 104 yards and a touchdown. Williams has struggled with efficiency this season, so McLaughlin may have earned a larger role even if Williams is active. The Jets are 21st in FanDuel points allowed per game to running backs this season.
