Mike Evans (hamstring) missing again from Buccaneers practice
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans (hamstring) is not practicing again on Thursday.
Evans injured his hamstring in Week 4 and remains sidelined after the Buccaneers' bye, but head coach Todd Bowles said Friday will be the pivotal day to determine his status for Week 6. Chris Godwin will command a larger target share if Evans is ruled out for Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions, with Trey Palmer likely joining him as the other primary receiver in two-wide sets. Cade Otton, Rachaad White, Deven Thompkins, and Rakim Jarrett will also be in the mix for larger roles in the passing game if Evans is unavailable. Evans (31) and Godwin (30) have drawn more than half of Baker Mayfield's targets this season.
Evans is the WR17 in numberFire's Week 6 PPR rankings and our models project him for 11.3 FanDuel points, with 7.9 targets, 4.7 receptions, and 67.6 yards. The Lions are No. 20 in FanDuel points allowed per game to receivers, but their pass defense is No. 12 in our opponent-adjusted NEP metrics.
