James Cook (illness) sitting out Bills practice Wednesday
Buffalo Bills running back James Cook (illness) is not practicing on Wednesday for Week 16 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Cook should have enough time to feel better before the Bills visit the Chargers on Saturday night. He set season-highs with 25 carries and 179 rushing yards in last week's dominant victory over the Dallas Cowboys. The Bills are double-digit favorites against the Chargers, so Cook could see another hefty workload in a plus matchup. Latavius Murray and Ty Johnson will have more opportunities if Cook is limited by his illness.
Cook is the RB7 in numberFire's Week 16 rankings and our models project him for 14.8 FanDuel points, with 14.5 carries, 67.7 rushing yards, 3.3 receptions, and 29.4 receiving yards. The Chargers' run defense is 25th in our opponent-adjusted efficiency rankings and they allow the seventh-most FanDuel points per game to running backs.
