Oakland Athletics rookie Jharel Cotton, takes the bump with just 40.2 innings pitched in his big league career. His lack of experience combined with some other intriguing options could leave him off quite a few lineups.

While we are only two weeks into the young season, Cotton's opponent, the Texas Rangers, has been whiffing a ton -- they've accumulated a 23.4% strikeout rate as a club, which is seventh highest in the league. Their .308 team wOBA is only better than 10 other teams.

Cotton has been a strikeout machine throughout his minor-league career, it hasn't totally translated to the big leagues yet, evidenced by his 20.4% strikeout rate.
