3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 9/25/17
Freddy Galvis, SS, Philadelphia Phillies
FanDuel Price: $2,700
The Philadelphia Phillies have a good matchup against A.J. Cole, who has a lackluster 5.17 SIERA, 19.3% strikeout rate, and 12.0% walk rate over 42 2/3 innings this season. In a small sample size, Cole has had a particularly difficult time dealing with southpaws, which benefits the switch-hitting Freddy Galvis.
However, while Galvis benefits from the strong matchup and batting high in the Phillies order, you have better punt plays at shortstop in Kike Hernandez and Corey Seager. The Los Angeles Dodgers are also in a nice spot against Travis Wood, and Hernandez is priced near the minimum ($2,200), while Seager has the same price as Galvis and is obviously a far more talented player. Seager has a career .371 wOBA, which does laps around Galvis' .284 mark.
