Sell Mark Reynolds

So Washington Nationals first baseman Mark Reynolds has had himself a pretty impressive season thus far. A week ago, he had a 10-RBI night for the Nats, and on the season, he is hitting a surprising .291/.361/.573 with 10 homers and 19 RBIs in 133 plate appearances.

He's currently a part-time player, splitting time at first with Matt Adams, so his fantasy value is limited for that reason, but he actually has reverse splits this year, with a 1.011 OPS against right-handers and an .822 OPS against southpaws.

And while Reynolds, who was once baseball's biggest strikeout artist, has cut his strikeout rate down to 26.3%, he's still probably not this good. Through July 5th, he was hitting .250/.325/.470 with a wRC+ of 112. Not bad for a first baseman, but also not much above the league average for the position. Now is the time to use his hot streak to get you a decent pitcher, perhaps a saves-heavy relief guy, if that's a need for you.
