Sell Sean Newcomb

As mentioned a moment ago with Foltynewicz, panicking over Sean Newcomb's recent slump would be a bad idea, as well. But if you're someone who wants more certainty from a starting pitcher, this is another guy who it may be wise to deal before he makes another start.

In his first 16 starts of 2018, Newcomb went 8-2 with a 2.71 ERA and allowed a meager .615 OPS to opposing hitters. However, in three July starts, Newcomb has allowed 13 earned runs in 12 innings, good for an ERA of 9.75 while giving up an OPS of .932.

This isn't to say Newcomb is broken, but it is to say he was, perhaps, pitching over his head in the first half and that a slight regression may be in order. If you've been relying on him as an ace starter, it's probably time to deal him for a more established arm, if possible, or for some offensive help in a swap with a pitching-needy team.
