As the Chicago Cubs try to hold off the Milwaukee Brewers and St. Louis Cardinals in the NL Central, they'll lock horns with Stephen Strasburg tonight, and that means tough sledding could be in order for Cubs backstop Willson Contreras.
On the season, in which Strasburg has been limited to 101 1/3 innings pitched, the right-hander has been particularly tough on same-sided batters, striking them out 34.6% of the time with a .310 wOBA mark against.
Contreras has been a key staple of the Cubs' lineup, but he has struggled in this split. The youthful catcher has posted a 28.7% hard-hit rate and .325 wOBA in 363 plate appearances against righties this year, making Contreras one we shouldn't be looking to roster this evening.
