After ending the month of April on a low note, Brett Anderson has put together a solid May that has included a stretch of 12.0 scoreless innings pitched. He gets to pitch the night after the previously mentioned Frias in the pitcher-friendly AT&T Park in San Francisco. The Giants have scored five or more runs at home in six or 20 home games and have strung together back-to-back games of five-plus runs once (May 2 and 3).

The Giants are coming off their best offensive series of the season against the Cincinnati Reds, who have one pitcher worth fearing. That pitcher is Johnny Cueto (obviously) and the Giants mustered two runs against him over seven quality innings. Expect the Giants to struggle against Anderson, who has yet to exceed nine fly ball outs in a game (his groundball-to-fly ball ratio is 1.9), playing into San Fran’s penchant for hitting the ball on the ground.
