Kyle Lobstein, Detroit Tigers

Yahoo Ownership: 3%
ESPN Ownership: 5%

Kyle Lobstein was a pick last week, but his first bad outing of the season offers a glimmer of hope: Lobstein has won each start after a loss this season. It was also Lobstein’s first start where he did not earn as many groundball outs as he did fly ball outs.

Lobstein’s first start of the week is at home Monday against the struggling Brewers. The Crew lost Carlos Gomez during Sunday’s game to a facial contusion after being hit by a pitch. That is a huge loss for a team tied for last with 49 runs scored away from home. The Philadelphia Phillies were the worst team on the road for the first six weeks of the season, but Milwaukee is now worse than them in hits, extra-base hits, average, on-base percentage (OBP), and on-base plus slugging percentage (OPS). Milwaukee’s 22 walks are the worst on the road by 12, the largest gap between any two teams. Get Lobstein back in your lineup for Monday.

He gets a second start against the Houston Astros at home over the weekend. It is not advisable to start him due in large part to Houston being a top-five team in runs, home runs, and OPS while being a middle-of-the-road strikeout team away from their friendly confines.
