Fantasy Baseball Streaming Pitchers: Deep in the Heart of Texas
Chad Bettis, Colorado Rockies
Yahoo Ownership: 10%
ESPN Ownership: 22%
The Colorado Rockies are hovering around .500 in part because of known assets such as Nolan Arenado and Troy Tulowitzki, but it has been surprise seasons from players such as Chad Bettis who have given Rockies fans a glimmer of hope for the future.
Bettis has yet to allow a homer in 2015 and that includes making three starts in hitter-friendly Coors Field and two starts against a powerful Los Angeles Dodgers lineup. His 2.70 ERA is slightly above his FIP of 2.40, and his 7.29 strikeouts per nine innings (K/9) is a career-high. That may come down a little (6.14 career K/9), but as long as he is continuing to operate with a 1.63 G/F ratio, he’s a solid streamer.
His opponent this week is the St. Louis Cardinals in Colorado. The Cards have been lacking power hitting all season and just lost Matt Adams for 3 to 4 months. St. Louis ranks 21st in runs scored on the road and are 20th in slugging. Their .683 on-base plus slugging percentage (OPS) is 19th, nailing home the fact that the Cardinals are a bottom-third team away from Busch Stadium. St. Louis possesses a 3.17 K/BB ratio away from home and have a 0.99 G/F ratio, tied for sixth highest in the Majors, making them a solid candidate for streamers.
