Miguel Gonzalez, Baltimore Orioles

Yahoo Ownership: 45%
ESPN Ownership: 40%

Miguel Gonzalez is welcomed back to the streamers party after allowing four runs and striking out 14 over his last two starts. His reward this week is one solid start against the Boston Red Sox and one avoidable assignment versus the Yankees.

The Red Sox own the second worst average and slugging percentage and fourth worst OPS on the road this season. Boston has hit into 27 double plays in 29 road contests and face a pitcher who has neutralized hitter’s willingness to take walks. Gonzalez has gone two starts without a free pass and sports a 2.88 walks per nine innings ratio this season. If Gonzalez has one weakness, it is home runs. His last four home runs allowed were solo shots, a silver lining of sorts.

Gonzalez has some risk, but Boston is at best a mediocre road team facing a pitcher whose 2015 ERA and WHIP are within 0.1 of his career marks.
