The powerful young third baseman's season has been up and down so far, but he's shown flashes of the big upside advertised during his ascent to the Major Leagues.
He should have the opportunity to flash that upside again today in a matchup against Chase Anderson. Anderson's ERA sits at a sparkling 5.00 on the year, and he has actually been hit harder by right-handed batters in his career.
Franco, a righty, has also posted reverse splits in his short career, performing better against righties. He's far from a safe bet, but the potential is certainly there in a matchup against Anderson.
