Trevor Bauer doesn’t possess the swing-and-miss upside of Pomeranz, but he has a superb home matchup tonight against a struggling New York Yankees’ offense. New York ranks 24th with a .307 wOBA, and that number drops to .292 away from homer-happy Yankee Stadium.

The former third overall pick back in 2011, Bauer has never lived up to his draft status, but he’s turning in a solid campaign this year. He’s sporting a 4.01 SIERA, 22.3 strikeout rate and 8.4% walk rate.

Bauer is coming off one of the best months of his career. Over 44 2/3 innings in June, he held opposing hitters to a microscopic .233 wOBA while posting a 25.0% whiff rate and 7.0% walk rate.
