8 Fantasy Football Sleepers for Week 3
Darren Sproles, RB, Philadelphia Eagles
Ryan Mathews owners may want to skip to the next slide and live in blissful ignorance, but Darren Sproles has played a huge role in the Philadelphia Eagles backfield so far.
Snap Market Share | Carry Market Share | Target Market Shate | |
---|---|---|---|
Darren Sproles | 53% | 26% | 10% |
Ryan Mathews | 39% | 47% | 1% |
Through two weeks, Mathews has handled a larger portion of the team's rushing duties, but Sproles has spent significantly more time on the field and has been much more involved in the passing game.
Sproles' matchup this week doesn't look great on the surface, as the Pittsburgh Steelers have been in the middle of the pack in terms of fantasy points allowed to running backs so far. However, Pittsburgh has some serious trouble stopping backs in the passing game in Week 2, allowing 12 receptions for 137 and 1 touchdown to the Cincinnati Bengals' running backs.
In addition to that, the Eagles are a 3.5-point underdog, making this a very intriguing spot for Sproles, particularly in points per reception formats.
