5 NFL Stats to Know Through Week 4
Julio Jones Led the NFL with 36 Fantasy Points in Week 4
After his 1-catch performance against the New Orleans Saints in Week 3, Jones rebounded in a big way, finishing with 12 receptions for 300 yards and 1 touchdown. That puts him at sixth on the all-time list for receiving yards in a single game.
His quarterback, Matt Ryan, completed 28 of 37 passes for 503 yards and 4 touchdowns, topping the fantasy leaderboard among quarterbacks with 35.52 fantasy points.
For Ryan, 15 of his 37 passes (40%) went to Jones, and the Carolina Panthers had no answer. It’s easy to point toward the loss of Josh Norman in their secondary, but the Panthers secondary had been strong through their first three games of 2016. This was the first time all year that any wide receiver had more than 55 receiving yards against Carolina, and his touchdown was only the third they’ve allowed to opposing wide receivers this year.
Next up, Jones will face off with the Denver Broncos fierce defense. Denver hasn’t given up a wide receiver touchdown since Week 1, and they haven't allowed a 100-yard game to a wideout this year.
