Right behind Mike Evans in targets is A.J. Green, who is third in the NFL with 11 looks per game. Many people will take a look at Buffalo’s defense versus wide receivers ranking this week and scroll right past A.J. Green’s name. The Bills are nearly league average against wide receivers, allowing 29.9 FanDuel points per game, but a deeper dive is necessary.
Their wide receiver ranking is skewed as a result of the matchup with the Jacoby Brissett-led Patriots in Week 4 when only one pass was caught by a wide receiver (Julian Edelman for 16 yards). If you look at their per-game average in their other eight contests this season, they’re allowing 33.4 FanDuel points per game -- that would be good for fourth-worst in the NFL. In the last four weeks alone, they’ve allowed six touchdowns to wide receivers.
Vegas is expecting a higher scoring affair, too. Since the line opened early in the week, the game total has jumped from 45.5 to 47.5 points. When you consider the fact that you’ll also get A.J. Green at a discount this week, he becomes an excellent option in all formats.
