Ty Montgomery, WR/RB, Green Bay Packers

ESPN Ownership: 37.3%
Yahoo Ownership: 35%

The Ty Montgomery roller coaster ride continued again on Sunday, with the hybrid receiver/running back seeing 29 snaps and clearly outproducing his counterparts both as a receiver and runner. By contrast, James Starks saw just 7 snaps, while the enigmatic Christine Michael saw 11.

After a midseason stretch saw Montgomery emerge as an effective and versatile weapon out of the backfield following the loss of Eddie Lacy, the Packers got away from him due to injuries, the return of Starks, and perhaps a dash of questionable coaching.

He finished the game on Sunday with just 8 touches for 56 yards, and while this could continue to be a frustrating timeshare backfield, Montgomery was clearly the most effective of the running backs, earning 0.20 Rushing NEP per play in Week 13. Michael posted a -0.22, and Starks was at -0.78 on four carries.

If the team sees what seemed to evident to the rest of the viewing audience, perhaps they will once again return to showcasing the young player as the season draws to a close.

And given his position versatility in ESPN leagues as both a receiver and running back and also the fact that he plays alongside Aaron Rodgers, Montgomery is worth rostering to see how the team utilizes their backfield in the weeks ahead.
