Terence Newman, Cornerback

Minnesota Vikings cornerback Terence Newman has been one of the most prohibitive cover men in football this year, allowing less than a fantasy point per target this season (per Pro Football Focus). Still, opposing passing games are targeting him on a non-avoiding 16 percent of his coverage snaps, and he’s converted that to a league-average 5 percent tackle rate. He has eight pass disruptions, however, and can still punish a passing attack foolish enough to challenge him.

Week 15 puts him against the Indianapolis Colts and quarterback Andrew Luck, whose 2.20 percent interception rate is about league-average as well. Still, the Colts run the seventh-most raw passing plays and rank ninth-most pass-heavy in play calling ratio. Newman may find himself on someone less highly targeted than stud T.Y. Hilton, but there will be plenty of chances for him to make an impact.

Newman is available in 96.9% of ESPN IDP leagues, and we project him for 4.41 tackles, 0.32 interceptions, 0.38 passes defended, and a total score of 6.99 fantasy points in Week 15.
