3. Edelman Gets a Huge First Down

Win Probability Swing: +12.35% | Win Probability After: 77.02%

If you'll recall before, Hogan had a big reception in overtime that brought the Patriots into Atlanta territory at the 37-yard line. At the time, they were within field-goal range. They bumped right out of it on the next play from scrimmage.

That was when White -- in one of his few negative plays of the night -- fell for a three-yard loss back at the 40-yard line. From there, it would have been a 57-yard field goal, a much tougher ask of Gotskowski. Edelman erased that need on the next play.

Brady found Edelman for a 15-yard gain, picking up a first down and moving New England back deep into Falcons territory at the 25-yard line. After White's loss, their win probability fell back to 64.66%; Edelman's reception sent it soaring to 77.02%.

Two plays later was the pass interference, followed in another two plays by White's game winner. Edelman helped set that up with his huge catch. But none of this would have happened had they not gotten the two-point conversion to equalize things in the fourth quarter, and that's where we're headed next.
