The above needs are in no particular order. If they were, “cornerback” would be in all caps and neon-colored and have a GIF of a dog in a pirate costume dancing attached. Once again undone by their defense, the Green Bay Packers were the 10th-worst team by Adjusted Defensive Passing NEP per play this past year.
Damarious Randall, Ladarius Gunter, and Quinten Rollins were in way over their heads. They had little pass rush to help, and outside linebackers Nick Perry and Julius Peppers are both impending free agents.
The offense isn’t perfect, though. They could use a guard to replace Josh Sitton, as the interior line ranked ninth-worst in Rushing Success Rate. They also might need a running back for the line to block for; Ty Montgomery barely buoyed that unit to a 16th-best Total NEP per play mark.
In addition, tight end Jared Cook spent most of the year injured, and Richard Rodgers spent most of the year bad. The tight ends in Green Bay posted the eighth-least Reception NEP per target.
