3. Derrick Brooks, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2002)

We already talked about Sapp and Rice, so who does that leave among the great Tampa defenders? Derrick Brooks, of course.

At the age of 29, the long-time linebacker tallied 87 tackles, a sack and 5 picks. So, with an AV of 22 and a total of 4 defensive touchdowns, it's no wonder Brooks won Defensive Player of the Year in 2002.
