If you want to really pan for hidden gold, the Division-II stream is severely undertapped. That’s where the monstrous Adam Shaheen out of Ashland plied his college trade, and he is poised to be an NFL crown jewel now.

Shaheen looks more offensive tackle than offensive skill player, but his production is pretty darn good. Among 126 NCAA players with at least 50 receptions this year, Shaheen’s 867 receiving yards would have been 59th if he played at an FBS school. Evan Engram was the only tight end with more receiving yards in 2016.

It’s been noted that Shaheen’s technique is in need of refinement, both as a blocker and route runner. Still, relative for a player of his size, a 4.79 40-yard dash, 4.38 short shuttle, 7.09 three-cone, 32.5-inch vertical, and 10’1” broad jump are pretty marvelous. Those kinds of raw tools should make him intriguing for both NFL teams and fantasy ones alike.
