It seems like every offseason since 2014 has gone by, fans have clamored for Cleveland Browns rusher Isaiah Crowell to be unseated by a new running back. Duke Johnson joined the squad the following year, but he fills the receiving back role in this offense -- a very different one than power back Crowell.

Crow is the thunder of the Dawg Pound duo, but time and again he seems to come up as replaceable talent. Last year, he ranked a solid but unspectacular 21st in Rushing NEP per attempt among the 42 backs to attempt 100 rushes.

Another draft, and another chance for the Browns to “upgrade” on Crowell has gone by. They selected Matt Dayes in the seventh round, but that low of draft capital expended hardly warrants noting when it comes to a starting running back gig out of the gates. Crowell is a virtual lock for 175 carries once again.
