Rice's presence was instrumental in the Niners' regular season and playoff successes. In the former, he averaged four catches and 81.6 yards per game, but, in the latter, he averaged a ridiculous seven receptions and 136.3 yards per. Rice ended the year with a total of 16 touchdowns in 19 games.
