Fantasy Football: 5 Late-Round Tight Ends With Huge Touchdown Potential

This is a piece about touchdown potential. Matt Ryan produced 27.33 more Passing NEP last year than any other quarterback, so the Atlanta Falcons would seem to be swimming in end-zone upside. That makes Austin Hooper worthy of your adoration.

With Jacob Tamme out the door, Hooper -- a third-round pick in 2016 -- seems positioned to take over the top slot on the team. And as Tamme showed last year, that's a mighty valuable position to have.

Tamme played seven full games last year before going down with a season-ending injury. When Tamme went down, he was tied for the team lead with 11 red-zone targets, two more than Julio Jones had the entire regular season. If Hooper slides into the role Tamme had, he could be a regular in high-leverage situations.

It's far from a certainty that Hooper will just hop into that role and immediately become a fixture in the passing game. But his price takes that risk into account. He's going later in drafts than Cameron Brate, who may not even be the top tight end on his own team. The costs associated with Hooper are extremely low, and his upside is considerable. He's not a bad asset with which to round out your rosters.
