Fantasy Football: The Downside for Each Top-20 Pick

Doug Baldwin, WR, Seattle Seahawks

Downside: Inconsistency

As good as Doug Baldwin's been over the last two years, the one area where he's hurt fantasy football teams is how inconsistent he's been -- especially relative to his average draft position.

During Baldwin's breakout 2015 campaign, he finished as fantasy football's ninth-best wideout, scoring almost 269 (nice) PPR points. However, that season, he ended with seven top-24 performances, which tied for 13th in the league with seven other wide receivers. In other words, he wasn't putting together super usable games consistently.

OK, maybe that happened because his breakout came later in the year, so that skewed his weekly numbers, I said to myself. Well, I'd feel confident in that had he not gone out last year, finished as a top-10 wideout again, and ended with just six top-24 performances. That was WR2-esque.

This is something Baldwin owners may just have to deal with. But at least we know he'll see a nice market share, and his end-of-season numbers should still look solid.
