7 DraftKings Bargains for Week 1

If you had asked me a few weeks ago if I'd consider starting Zay Jones in Week 1, I'd have probably said no. Things change quickly in the preseason, however. The Buffalo Bills lost Anquan Boldin to retirement. They traded away Sammy Watkins, and his replacement, Jordan Matthews, sustained a chip fracture to his sternum shortly after joining the team. Though it looks like Matthews should be back for Week 1, Jones' stock has risen considerably as he is now locked into a high-volume role.

Zay gets a Jets team this week that is doing everything in its power to lose games in 2017. The Jets ranked 25th against team's top wideouts and 32nd against team's number-two receivers in 2016, according to Football Outsiders' DVOA metric. Buffalo has an implied total of 24.75 points this week and are 9.5-point favorites. We have Jones projected for 10.93 PPR points this week, for a multiple of over 3.1 (when compared to his salary).

Fortunately for Jones, Buffalo fans, and the fantasy world that wants to watch the Buffalo/Jets game, Tyrod Taylor was cleared from concussion protocol on Tuesday. In one game against the Jets last year, TyGod threw for 297 yards and 3 scores. Taylor has a good shot at coming close to those numbers again, and Jones will likely be a large part of it if he does.

At only $3,500, Jones is a cheap option who is a high-risk, high-reward play and shouldn't see much ownership -- the perfect type of player to use in tournament lineups.
