Fantasy Football: 4 Players You Can Drop After Week 1

Danny Woodhead was set to be a key cog for the Baltimore Ravens, but a hamstring injury could put him on the shelf for a while. Which other players can you feel safe dumping onto the waiver wire?

Fantasy football can be a cruel hobby. Fake footballers spend weeks and months prepping draft strategies and plotting out the level of exposure they want with their particular sleepers or bounce-back candidates.

Week 1 arrives, and all of your preparation is set to pay off. Then, one of your best players goes down to injury in the first quarter. Or your top sleeper doesn't look like he carved out the role you thought he'd have. Still, the show goes on -- adjustments must be made.

Each week, it's critical you do a thorough roster examination to get dead weight off of your squad. While you obviously want your bench to be stashed with players with some upside, you need to ensure that at least some of them have standalone value, as well. Holding onto a player too long can prevent you from hitting on a waiver-wire pickup.

Obviously, guys who suffered season-ending injuries in Week 1 -- Allen Robinson (knee) and Kevin White (collarbone) -- need to be dropped immediately. But we're going to focus on players who saw a smaller-than-expected role or under-performed when given an opportunity.

Here are four guys who can be confidently dropped from your roster after Week 1 in favor of other options.
