On fairly limited touches, Washington running back Chris Thompson has been great through the first two weeks of the season. On Sunday, he was forced to step it up when teammate Rob Kelley left the game with a rib injury and didn't return. Thompson did not disappoint, scoring two touchdowns. While that sounds great, he only had six touches. That kind of production is unsustainable.

With Kelley's status is up in the air for next week and beyond, Washington will depend on Thompson and rookie Samaje Perine. Perine is worth a look as he toted the ball 21 times for 67 yards. Perine also added a catch for no gain. While this was an inefficient outing, Perine became the primary ball carrier, and that kind of volume is tough to come by on the waivers.

Just a month ago, we touted Perine as the running back to target in the Washington offense. Keep an eye on Kelley's status. Perine will be a must-add if Kelley were to miss any time.
