Austin Seferian-Jenkins Is the Pass Catcher to Own on the Jets
Who doesn't love a comeback story? After the NFL suspended him for two games, Austin Seferian-Jenkins got his life on track by seeking counseling and becoming sober.
It's certainly admirable for anyone to admit they have a problem and to seek help, so it's heartwarming to see ASJ back from his suspension and contributing to the Jets in a meaningful way.
Meaningful might even be putting it lightly; he's led the team in targets in two of his three games since returning from his suspension. Per AirYards.com, his 21 percent share of the Jets' targets not only leads his own team, it is tied for the third-highest target share in the league at the tight end position.
On Sunday, he made good on his opportunities by finding pay dirt against the Browns, converting 8 targets into 6 receptions for 29 yards and a touchdown. His 11.9 fantasy points in 0.5-point PPR leagues was good for a ninth place finish at the tight end position in Week 5 (not counting Monday's game).
With his busy role in the Jets' offense, Seferian-Jenkins has quickly ascended from a tight end streaming candidate into a legitimate every-week starter.
