Week 5 Fantasy Points: 17.5

Back in Week 3, off-the-fantasy-radar tight end Marcedes Lewis scored 24.2 fantasy points en route to the week's top tight end performance.

This week, it was Ed Dickson's turn to be the surprise top tight end for the week. His 5 receptions for 175 yards were not only a personal career best, they were one of the best tight end performances of this century. Since 2000, a tight end has cleared 175 receiving yards in a game only six times. That means it's fair to assume Dickson won't be putting up a similar stat line any time soon, but can he still be a useful fantasy asset for the rest of the season?

Maybe -- but probably not. In the three games since Greg Olsen was lost to injury, Dickson is averaging just over three targets per game. Although he's shown some big-play potential (6 of his 20 receptions this year have been for more than 20 yards), that's still not a lot of volume to work with. Like Lewis in Week 3, it's safe to leave Dickson on the waiver wire.
