6 Fantasy Football Splits That Matter for Week 10

As the season progresses and injuries continue to mount, it's important to note past instances of opportunity when a player for any particular team has been ruled out.

Martavis Bryant, for example, was suspended and out for the Pittsburgh Steelers last Sunday. Although that was the first game he missed all season, there are a number of games Le'Veon Bell and Antonio Brown have played without him in recent years.

A common misconception is that Bryant, being the second receiver in the offense, has historically taken targets away from Brown. Fact is, Brown has actually averaged 12.6 targets and 115.7 receiving yards in 18 games with Bryant over the last three seasons and a decreased 10.1 and 89.3 in 21 games without (via RotoViz Game Splits). It's actually Bell who's faltered with Bryant firing on all cylinders, averaging 2.5 fewer targets and 21.2 fewer receiving yards with the latter active in that span.

The Steelers will reportedly play Bryant this upcoming Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts. While that could very well be true, the receiver has been a non-factor for the offense in 2017, averaging a paltry 14.81% target share. This recent news shouldn't scare you off Bell, who has not only scored 63.8% (23-of-36) of his career touchdowns on the road (including all five this year), but will square off against a Colts defense sans tackle Henry Anderson (Pro Football Focus' 37th-ranked interior defender among 118 qualifiers).
