When Both Sides Profit
(Remember when I mentioned focusing on both sides of a matchup rather than the offense that's been discussed the most? Allow me to explain.)
Many have been quick to point out just how abysmal the New York Giants' defense is and rightfully so. It's easy to focus on playing Travis Kelce in both FanDuel and season-long lineups when the Giants have sat back and watched tight ends average a league-high 19.4 fantasy points per game against them.
What doesn't seem to be garnering as much attention, though, is that the Chiefs have been equally abysmal on defense and rank 25th-overall, according to Adjusted Defensive NEP. In fact, no team has allowed a higher percentage of fantasy points to opposing wideouts than KC.
With that being said, it's worth noting that Sterling Shepard has received 22 targets and led the Giants with a 29% target share since returning from injury in Week 9. Whether the Chiefs score at will or not, Shepard is clearly in a position to benefit either in a blowout or high-scoring affair.
It's also a tremendous matchup for Evan Engram, seeing as how the Detroit Lions remain the only team allowing a higher amount of yards per attempt to opposing tight ends (9.8) than the Giants (9.3).
If you're looking to avoid the ownership that will inevitably come attached with all of Kansas City's top skill players, it only makes sense to roster guys in an equally great matchup on the other side of the ball in daily fantasy.
