Dynasty Fantasy Football: 8 Players to Buy Before Week 1

D'Onta Foreman, RB, Houston Texans

ADP: 85th overall (RB34)

This one is a little scary because D'Onta Foreman is coming off an Achilles injury, but the upside here is through the roof.

Foreman is still on the PUP list after tearing his Achilles last November, and there's no guarantee he's ready for Week 1. If he's still on the PUP list by the time the regular season rolls around, he'll have to sit out the first six weeks.

Even when Foreman comes back, he may spend the better part of 2018 easing back into action, which gives Lamar Miller's redraft stock a big boost. But in dynasty, we can afford to take one for the team in the short term for a big payoff down the road.

With Deshaun Watson at the helm, the Texans' offense went nuts last year, averaging 39 points per game over Watson's last 5 starts, which included road games at New England and Seattle. Houston won't maintain that pace -- Watson's 9.3% touchdown rate is bound to regress -- but with Watson and DeAndre Hopkins, this offense looks poised to be one of the better attacks in football for the foreseeable future.

Having the starting running back on said offense should be really valuable, and Foreman could be that guy in the near future. Miller wasn't great as a runner last season -- 32nd in Rushing NEP per carry among the 47 backs with at least 100 attempts -- and the Texans can cut him with just $1 million in dead money after 2018.

Getting Foreman before Week 1 may not do much for you in 2018, but if he's the presumed starter heading into next offseason, you'll be glad you bought him when he's reasonably priced.
